How to Floss Effectively



Twist 30 cm around the middle fingers of each hand. Squeeze floss between thumbs and index fingers, leaving a 3 – 5 cm length in between. Use your tumb to guide floss to upper teeth


Keep a 3 – 5 cm length of floss stretched tight between fingers. Use your index fingers to guide floss between contacts of the lower teeth. 


Gently guide floss between the teeth by using a crisscross action. Be careful not to snap the strand of floss between your teeth. Curve floss around the side o the tooth. 


Slide floss up and down against the tooth surface and under the gumline. Floss each tooth thoroughly with a clean section of floss.

Good Dental Hygiene


Good dental hygiene is important to your overall health. Here are some tips for having good dental hygiene...
1. Brush your teeth at least twice a day or after every meal.

2. Change your toothbrush every 3-4 months. Using an old toothbrush that has bristle damage will not properly clean your teeth. Preferably with soft bristles, using hard one may damage your teeth and gums over time. It is a matter of preference though.

3. Brush your tongue as well as your teeth. If you want they do sell special tongue cleaners or you can just use you toothbrush. Also the roof of your mouth. This will kill any unwanted bacteria that can cause tooth decay.

4. Floss every day. Cleaning in between your teeth to remove any food particles that can also cause tooth decay. Make sure you get the back as well.

5. When drinking tea, soda, juice and even coffee use a straw. This will avoid contact directly to your teeth that can cause staining.

6. Make sure that you see your dentist at least every six months! It is vital to the health and care of your teeth. You can go more often for cleaning.

7. Use a toothpaste that contains fluoride, to prevent tooth decay and it also restores your enamel.

8. Cut back on sugary foods and try to incorporate healthy fruits and vegetables (preferably raw) to help maintain healthy teeth.

9. Make sure you get plenty of calcium. It is essential for your teeth as well as your bones. Drink milk, fortified orange juice and eat yogurt, broccoli, cheese, other dairy products. Or you can take a calcium supplement, different doses according to your age group but the bottle should tell you how much to take.

10. Simply drink plenty of water. Water is good for every aspect of your body, so make sure you drink an adequate amount.
